It was Friday too. There was an unprecedented silence in many schools that did not commemorate anything but was a symbol of solidarity with the LGBT movement. Students were encouraged to wear armbands and bracelets expressing support for homosexual movements, and posters were hung in schools. It was in the USA. I found out about this when I entered a Christian group; many parents had just agreed that their children would stay home on April 27, 2018.
Christian group; you walk in joyfully, again and again … and your face slackens as you discover that the group that thinks they are followers of Jesus does nothing but fight homosexuality.
At one point, I sarcastically suggest that they should change the name to AntyHomo group or something similar, because all they do is post pics and news about more homo-precedents. Hey, that’s what the world does!
The world is like that! About this was written 2000 years ago. Jesus made a difference between the people of the world and those who are not of the world.
If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. (John 15:19)
To the world does not belong the man who has a renewed spirit. But the one who hasn’t, belongs to this world; he sees with his eyes and grinds things up according to his physicality, his ego, or popular social slogans. A person who has a regenerated spirit looks and sees things spiritually – that is, much deeper, because God’s spirit guides him into all truth.(John 16:13)
It is known that to someone who is not born of the spirit and guided by God’s spirit these things are foolishness. (1 Corinthians 1:18) And it makes no sense to explain them bodily, looking for newer and newer arguments and constantly fighting the symptoms.
Let’s not fight the rainbow
Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him: 9 “I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you 10 and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you—every living creature on earth. 11 I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
12 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
(Genesis 9, 8-13 and 9,17)
As we know, the original rainbow has 7 colors – it is probably no coincidence, because the number 7 in the Bible is a sign of God, a symbol of the complement.
The LGBT flag has 6 colors – and 6 is the human number. Isn’t it interesting that man wants to be this whole, complement? Does Revelation not mention that this mysterious antichrist number is 666? No mysticism! Let’s read: man-man-man! Man counts! (not God in the first place).
Before we rise anew
Homosexuality is not an extraordinary sin – it is, like any other sin, the effect of a sinful nature, that is, the one before birth, of the spirit. And it does not matter whether homosexuality was born into a human being, or whether it came over time – for example, as a result of bad patterns or deficiencies, at key moments in childhood, or as a result of trauma – or whether it was chosen – for example, a few years ago, bisexuality became fashionable and chosen by middle school students as a different sexual experience. It was similar in ancient Rome – it was to the Romans that the apostle Paul addressed these bitter words, which can be read in Romans 1: 21-31. This quote is quoted whenever the topic of homosexuality is put on the list. But wrongly.
It would be ignorant to say that homosexuality is always a choice, or that it is enough to abandon it. I will quote the Bible;
Can an Ethiopian change his skin or a leopard its spots?
Neither can you do good who are accustomed to doing evil. (Jeremiah 13:23)
There is one thing I am striving towards:
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (Romans 3:23)
and let’s continue
and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:24)
Mainstream says; Man is born with homosexuality, it is impossible to get rid of it, it must be accepted, it is not a disease.
God says otherwise:
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! (2 Cor.5:17)
Here’s the simple truth: we all have a sinful nature, no matter what gender we are attracted to, our lifestyle, our families and what we represent – it is possible only with the help of a reborn spirit.
You can set fire to the gay rainbow, or you can proudly wave it – but if you are still one hundred percent in the body – you will be a representative of this mentioned world and no one else. And God wants to make more of you – heir, heirness to His kingdom, which goes further and wider than the globe.
How to live with gays in a Christian way?
When I encountered another blasphemy against homosexuals in the American Christian group, I asked the question – are they fighting obesity, McDonalds, sex outside marriage or alcoholism with similar fervor – because these are human choices. This is not always like that with homosexuality.
Somehow it is so with these propaganda slogans that they sound loud but do not present specific proposals and solutions. It’s easy to quit „Give up homosexuality!” – Walk the streets of the city, go home, and meet in a Christian home group worshiping God. I do not know about you, but I am arguing.
Many Christians immediately assume that they have to move aggressively because homosexuals love their lifestyle so much that they need to „reason” and outline what awaits them more or less. But what awaits them? Just more hate.
Once I asked myself if I would have gone to the wedding of my gay friends if I had been invited. It is true that I never guess, because I appreciate Szymborska’s words so much.
We know so much about ourselves, as far as we have been checked
– but today and here, and so completely without consulting the Holy Spirit, I would say no. I know, without looking deeply, that God as a marriage recognized the union of people of the opposite sex, and everything he invented was good and served the good of man. My presence at the wedding of a gay couple could be read as an endorsement, and it certainly would not be. I certainly wouldn’t be honest with my wishes.
My attitude, however, would not exclude my love for these people.
LOVE does not exclude truth, and truth does not exclude love. It can be combined. Jesus was a master at this, and it is worth following this example. I am convinced that Jesus did not only sit with prostitutes, tax collectors, drunkards, gluttons, Samaritans, and adulterers, but also with homosexuals. And he loved everyone! How is this possible?! Because he was free. He brought love and the truth that frees. (John 8:32) although not everyone has endured it, not everyone would listen to it. Jesus went even further and gave Himself – whoever accepts Him acquires a new identity – His. It will receive a new value: in him, permanent. Man becomes carta blanca, having the same spirit that Jesus has, that is, perfect.
You may have been born homosexual, but when you come to God you will gain a new nature, a new identity – your old nature that separated you from God will pass away. Just like mine.
Many say; I was born this way. But Jesus says: You must be born again! (John 3: 3) This is true for every human being.
We – Christians need love of God – that is, love in the way that God loves man. Such love gives freedom, knowledge and wisdom to move within another person. Personally, the Holy Spirit taught me to look at other people as the one who will get to know Jesus in a moment and fall into His arms – this is also how I look at homosexuals. I am convinced that many of them will someday tell their testimony of their encounter with the living God – let us bring them closer to it, and do not distance them 🙂
I bless you all!
